Job Press Brake Operator, Bankstown

Workfast is currently seeking an experienced Press Brake Operator to join a leading manufacturing and engineering company based in Bankstown. This full-time casual role offers consistent day shifts with the opportunity to transition into permanent employment.

Location: Bankstown, NSW
Pay Rate: $45–$49 per hour + Overtime + Super
Hours: 6:00am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
Type: Temp to Perm
Start Date: ASAP

You’ll be part of a skilled fabrication team responsible for producing high-quality components used in waste management and industrial systems. This is a hands-on role in a busy workshop environment with a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual and CNC press brake machinery
• Read and interpret technical drawings and job orders
• Select and install tooling, set machine parameters
• Perform quality checks to ensure components meet specifications
• Conduct basic maintenance and pre-operational checks
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Communicate equipment faults or issues to supervisors
• Record job data, including timesheets and production notes
• Collaborate with workshop team to meet production goals

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience operating a press brake in a metal fabrication setting
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and work to tolerances
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting skills
• Forklift licence and/or overhead crane experience (desirable)
• Understanding of WHS procedures and safe work practices
• Ability to work independently and within a team
